We leave on time at 8.30am and head off in our pretty uncomfortable taxi with air-conditioning but not good! It’s a 7 year old , ummm Hyundai Sonata, I think it’s a little older but could be wrong!
As we don’t have 2 seat belts n the back of the car I feel that Kerrie and I should at least be belted in so Alberto sits in the back and Kerrie the front.
Its not luxury believe me and of course we cant expect it here in this country. Lucky for me I like to sleep in the car and at least the time passes quickly!
On our way see a sign for Australia! This is the name of the sugar refinery down the road! The name all the sugar refinery’s after countries!
I love the fact there is no graffiti anyway just wonderful huge posters of propaganda! I find them fabulous art!
We stop for coffee then onto Cienfugos where we stop and view a very old theatre called Terry Theatre built in 1887. It has fresco ceilings 4 tiers and original seats. it is really charming. Here Caruso use to sing.
Onto view Palacio del Valle built in 1917 with stunning views of the harbor, this is in all sorts of styles Gothic Moorish and Venetian.
They certainly had style in these days.
We have an awful lunch and head off to Trinidad. Another 2.3 hours. W arrive about 5 stiff and tired!
We have a rest in our hotel called Hotel Iberostar Gran Hotel. Here we have to share a room and luckily they are nice big ones!

Im a little disappointed as I thought we would be on the Carribean sea but that is 13 kms away instead centre of the town and with no swimming pool. It again is very stylish with lovey marble staircases and wrought iron. Very recently refurbished. A boutique Hotel
Rest dinner and bed. Kerrie has a really bad infection in her eye which is giving her some grieve so hope we get her to a doctor tomorrow if its not better.
