TRINIDAD 6.5.11
Today is my day at the beach and Kerrie is doing a walk. Kerrie leaves early and I sleep in.
Im getting ready to go to the beach and I m taking my time when Kerrie walks in , her eye looking terrible.
No walk for her she has to go to the hospital, they had waited at the hospital but thought it was better to come home then Alberto will come and get her when the doctor is free
Don’t really want to leave her but she insists so I head to Playa El Ancon, a little spot next to the hotel with a restaurant nice lounge chairs and the thatched little umbrellas! A CUD8.00 ride for 13kms!
Here Im on the Carribean sea where the water is warm and blue. I must say it is lovely and Im enjoying not being a bloody tourist and having to listen to Alberto all the time!! Its bloody hard work listening to someone who has a strong accent and speaks so loudly in your face!Concentration and translation is exhausting.
Back to the beach and a man comes around with mangoes coconuts and pineapples. I have a coconut and then later on a small pineapple which is delicious. So I swim read and sleep!! A perfect break from being a tourist.
My taxis doesn’t arrive which I had organized but there are plenty around and its easy to grab one so I head home about 3.00p.m.
Kerrie is sound asleep so I don’t disturb her and when she eventually wakes she tells me the specialist has given her some different medication and I think it looks a little better. She certainly has been in a bad way, Alberto has been good and taken her to the GP and then to the specialist at the hospital. Staff at the Iberostar ask me how she is, they are all very sweet and thoughtful.
Early evening just before dinner, Kerrie was in the lobby and th GP came in unannounced to check on her which was very kind.
Kerrie said the hospital was pretty basic but the doctors very kind.
Dinnr at hotel and bed!
