9.5.11 and 10.5.11 playa del Carmen- Mehakel Resort Mexico
Today was so relaxing, swimming, reading and eating!!
The weather is stunning, as I have said 31 degrees with a slight breeze to keep you cool.
The resort is very lovely, little 2 story villas with thatched roofs one room down stairs and another upstairs, surrounding the villas are little paths meandering in the white sand so you feel as though you are literally sitting on the beach.
They are all different colors green orange and sandy colour making them look most attractive with timber shutters.
A hammock on the little verandah is a great touch and having spent an hour in one today reading I want one!!! They are so comfortable! Would be great at Flinders!
Kerrie sat by the pool and me on the beach. Her eyes are still not better but certainly are on the mend. It has been pretty awful for her.
We meet at the bar at 5.00p.m but usually bump into each other during the day as you cant really get lost!!!
Happy Hour and here we are into tequila drinks, margaritas or tequila sunrise!! Mojitos have passed us by in Havana and believe me they aren’t the standard of Aussie!!
Dinner down 5th Ave a five-minute walk away, and we had a steak a nice change!
Really very few people around which is great for us!
Lots of tourist shops.

Another relaxing day on the beach reading, and looking at some pretty good bodies in their Brazilian bikinis! I remember seeing theses in the 80’s and was gob smacked in Rio and I must say they still look pretty amazing!!
A little more breeze today so a few little waves! Kerrie and sat around the pool for a while and I had lunch there and then headed to the beach which was about 3 steps! Just where 2 iguanas live! They poke their heads from a hole under the concrete and say hallo!!
Kerrie and I head down to 5th Ave (the main street a few minutes away from resort) about 6.30 for a margarita and dinner and while walking down the street the police arrive with 4 men in the back of a ute 2 with machine guns and other 2 with guns, helmets on and looking pretty mean!
Shit it gave us a fright and they kept on patrolling most of the night! Guess we know we are safe!!
It is Mothers Day here, it is always on the 10th whatever day it falls, so there are many more people around than other days so there is a fun atmosphere.
We discovered this amazing shell shop where the guy makes lights out of shells using wire around the shell and to hang them
Also little shell night-lights, which are really cute. We bought some shells that you cant get in Aus. but you can take in.
A really stunning and unique shop. Quite a find!!
Hey across the road from our resort is Curves, I think of Susan Wilkinson as she told me that if you are a member you can go anywhere in the world .Pretty good deal.
An adventure tomorrow!!!
