6-8th Dec 2011Tokyo and Kyoto

6-8 Dec 2011 TOKYO

HENRY and I went to the hospital for his check up for his cataract op and then headed back to hotel for an afternoon tour of the city.
We head off and go to a lovely garden called Hama-Rikyu Garden where it starts to rain!!
Buggar no brolly took it out of my bag when I got back to the hotel! How silly am I. As we continue on the tour the rain gets heavier !! We do a river cruise which was great and then get off at an area called Asakusa.
Here is a Temple and Nakamise shopping street. We jump off the boat and it is pouring with rain, as we all head across the road it is dark and wet and luckily a shop selling umbrellas!! Well a roaring trade they did everyone bought a brolly.
We have to wander up the street where I could have picked up a few Japanese souveniers but it was wet and miserable!
At the end of the street is the Buddhist temple but we had no interest just wanted to get onto the bus!! A drive through the Kappabashi area where the sell restaurants supplies and the wax food samples you see every where in the windows of  restaurants to advertise what  you can get to eat!! The guide tells us it looks better than it tastes!!
Drive through Ueon and Akibara area renown for electrical goods and back to the hotel
We decide to dress up and head down stairs at the hotel for dinner. We choose the Japanese and it is stunning but it did cost $900.00 for the two!!
We are in suite 1020 Hotel Seiyo
A wonderful evening!! Stunning sake (which Im getting into!!)

7th Dec

Up early to get another tour  this time to the Tokyo Tower and Meiji Shrine
A drive past the Diet building which is the House of Parliament! I kept thinking is this where we head to loose weight!!
Then onto the Imperial Palace East Garden which was gorgeous but as usual not enough time .
Head back to Ginza where we have another fabulous meal a hot pot with pork! The food is fabulous and cost about 50.00 unlike last night!!
Decide to buy some fruit and nuts and have it in our room after the expensive meal last night!!

Tomorrow we head to Kyoto on the fast train which will be fun

8th Dec 2011 to Kyoto

The taxi driver takes to a different entrance to the train which gives us the shits but we find our way . Everything is so organized and works like clock work. We get  on the Shinkansen bullet train first class and find our seats.
I decide to tell Henry that I am going to get my own room at the Hyatt as I just  couldn’t stand all the performance and carry on I have to put up with!! He is driving me mad and I
think if we have our own space we will get on better.  He took about 5 hours to pack, and me half an hour!! I couldn’t help him as he wouldn’t let me and it was agonizing for me to watch!)
He isn’t that happy but accepts it.
Feel better already!!!
Arrive 2.40hrs later and get to the Hyatt which is lovely.
Great rooms and mine to myself!!! Yippee !!!

I go for a wander down the street to get some fresh air
before meeting Henry as he of course has to take ¾ hr to unpack and me have done it in 5 mins!!

So a walk I have while waiting for him!!

We then go to Gion area as I want to see the Geisha girls
going to work.
Dropped off near a water way and bridge famous for all the
photos of them
Wander down the street and at 5.00p.m its pitch black and
cold, We are both  hungry and cold!! Wander into a tiny little restaurant that seats 12 and have again fabulous food while
Im watching the doorway to see if we can see a Geisha!!
One walks past so very happy!!
Have a fabulous dinner and then wander the streets and find some lovely shops and purchase some scarves !
Then we head to a coffee shop and while having our coffee we see 3 more Geisha girls! Im so happy!!
Here in Kyoto you see many more women wearing kiminos which is just divine, they look so elegant. I wanted to buy some shoes but at 350.00 I thought not!!!!
A lovely night and no fighting!! Back to my room where Henry got on the computer and I went to bed!!
